Nations urged to support Team GB

Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke urges the Scottish, Welsh and Irish Football Associations to "respect the wishes" of their players and allow them to represent Team GB at London 2012.

Scotland's Steven Naismith and Welshmen Ryan Giggs, Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale have expressed an interest in playing this summer, with Tottenham midfielder Bale receiving criticism for posing in a Team GB shirt.

Valcke also defends David Beckham for wanting to take part in the Olympics at the expense of a younger player, saying he believes the 36-year-old is not going for commercial reasons, but wants to fulfil his dream of winning a gold medal.
