Blackburn boss Steve Kean offered to postpone Bolton game

Blackburn manager Steve Kean says the club offered to postpone Saturday's match against Bolton if Owen Coyle's men were not ready to play following Fabrice Muamba's on-pitch cardiac arrest.

Midfielder Muamba remains in intensive care after collapsing in the FA Cup tie at Tottenham last Saturday.

His did postpone their midweek tie against Aston Villa, but Coyle said on Thursday they are braced for a "difficult return".

Kean also gives his backing for more heart screenings for footballers, saying they need to be looked at closer in this country.
