England striking options concern Alan Shearer

Former England captain Alan Shearer says the inclusion of Liverpool striker Andy Carroll and Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe in England's Euro 2012 squad is a surprise but believes their selection signals a lack of options for manager Roy Hodgson.

The BBC pundit says England's forwards' lack of first-team action for their clubs is a "slight concern" and believes it is a shame centre-back Rio Ferdinand did not make the squad.
