2002 experience can help Ireland - Keane

Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane thinks the team will benefit from the experiences of senior players at the 2002 World Cup and is sure the togetherness within the Irish squad will help them avoid the problems that occurred in the build-up to their last major tournament.

Roy Keane was sent home from the World Cup following a disagreement with manager Mick McCarthy.

The LA Galaxy striker is confident that the Republic of Ireland have the right manager and players experienced enough to do well in the European Championship when their campaign kicks off against Croatia in Poznan on Sunday 10 June.
