Euro 2012: Ireland unlikely to beat Spain - Mick McCarthy

Former Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy says Spain are still the team to beat at Euro 2012, and reflects on Ireland's 2002 World Cup exit when they lost to Spain in a penalty shoot-out.

Ireland lost their opening Euro 2012 match against Croatia and now face Spain on Thursday at 1945 BST at the PGE Arena in Gdansk.

McCarthy says Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has done an "unbelievable" job getting the side this far and believes the Italian will know the best way to approach the game.
