Collina defends assistants after disallowed Ukraine goal

Uefa's chief refereeing officer Pierluigi Collina admits Ukraine's wrongly-disallowed goal against England should have stood, describing the error as "a human mistake made by a human being".

However Collina refuses to blame Hungarian referee Viktor Kassai and his assistants for the error and defends the wider use of having assistant referees on the goal-line, stating this was "the only one problem we had with this experiment in roughly 1,000 matches".

Ukraine's Marko Devic was denied an equaliser against England in their 1-0 defeat that saw the Euro 2012 co-hosts exit the tournament.
