Wigan were better than Tottenham - Andre Villas-Boas
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas admits his side were second best as Wigan beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at White Hart Lane.
Villas-Boas says his players were unable to "express themselves" and that Wigan deserve credit for the way they played.
The defeat - a ''bad day at work'', according to Villas-Boas - left Tottenham fifth in the Premier League.
Villas-Boas was booed by Spurs fans for substituting leading scorer Jermain Defoe after Ben Watson's 56th-minute strike, but he claims second striker Clint Dempsey was having a better game and his decision was "for the best of the team".
