Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce condemns sectarian chanting at cup game

Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce warns Irish League clubs that serious sanctions could result if sectarian singing persists at some local games.

His comments follow incidents of offensive songs being sung by a section of both sets of supporters at Tuesday night's County Antrim Shield semi-final between Linfield and Cliftonville at Windsor Park.

Boyce warns that Fifa and Uefa could step in to order that games be played behind closed doors, or even points deducted, if such behaviour were to continue.
