Saints progress pleases Pochettino

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino says he is pleased with his team's "progress" in the year since he took charge of the club, despite their narrow 2-1 defeat at Everton.

Seamus Coleman gave Everton the lead early in the first-half, with an equaliser for the Saints coming from substitute Gaston Ramirez. However, just three minutes later the Toffees were back in front courtesy of Romelu Lukaku.

The Saints finish the year ninth in the Premier League table, with only one win in their last eight matches.
