West Ham 'right to back Allardyce'

West Ham's owners were right to publicly back manager Sam Allardyce, says former Hammers striker Tony Cottee.

The Upton Park side lost 5-0 to Championship club Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday and are also second from bottom in the Premier League.

Cottee says Allardyce's team need to start getting results quickly and believes the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium on Wednesday is a good opportunity to start improving their form.
