West Ham boss Sam Allardyce 'still fighting'

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce admits his players are "distraught" off the back of recent defeats, but "the past is the past" and he is "still fighting" as their manager.

The Hammers are currently second-from-bottom in the Premier League, and suffered a 5-0 FA Cup loss at Nottingham Forest and a 6-0 Capital One Cup semi-final first-leg defeat at Manchester City in the space of four days.

Allardyce believes Saturday's game against fellow strugglers Cardiff City is "massive", but says a win would relieve the pressure on him.
