Ards survival hopes fade after draw

Ards are eight points adrift at the bottom of the Irish Premiership table after Friday's 2-2 draw with fellow strugglers Warrenpoint Town.

Ards hit back with two equalisers after Warrenpoint had taken the lead, firstly through a Darren King header and then a Marty Havern penalty.

Andy Mitchell's shot made it 1-1 and a James Knowles penalty on 80 minutes levelled the game for a second time.

It means Ards, who have won only six matches all season, realistically need to win their four remaining fixtures and hope other results go in their favour to avoid the drop.
