Notts County: Shaun Derry knows importance of survival as a fan

Notts County manager Shaun Derry tells BBC East Midlands Today that, as a fan of the club, he knows what it will mean to avoid relegation from League One on the final day of the season.

Derry, 36, made the surprise decision to move into management in November at the club where he started his playing career as a trainee.

The former Sheffield United, Leeds, Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers midfielder took over as Notts boss with the club bottom of League One, but they need just a point at Oldham Athletic on Saturday to preserved their third-tier status.

On-loan winger Jack Grealish said he has dreamed about securing safety in his dreams, while Notts captain Alan Sheehan and Magpies supporters talk about Derry's influence at Meadow Lane.
