Arsenal 1-2 Southampton: Soft goals cost Gunners - Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says conceding "two soft goals" cost his side their place in the League Cup fourth round, after the Gunners were beaten 2-1 at home by Southampton.

Alexis Sanchez's superb free-kick gave Arsenal the lead, but Dusan Tadic equalised from the spot for Southampton, before a stunning strike from Nathaniel Clyne won the game for Saints.

Southampton's win ends a run of 10 matches without a victory against Arsenal in all competitions.
