Gibraltar game of 'vital importance' - Republic boss Martin O'Neill

Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill says a win over Gibraltar in Saturday's Euro 2016 qualifier in Dublin is of "vital importance" to his squad's campaign hopes.

Having won their opening qualifier in Georgia last month, O'Neill says it is important the Republic go into next week's tough assignment away to Germany with six points.

"Gibraltar is a game we'd be expected to win but it will be difficult enough for us," O'Neill said.

"Gibraltar caused lots of problems for Poland - they got plenty of men behind the ball and showed great determination. The Poles only got the upper hand late in the game."
