H&W Welders knock out Irish Cup holders Glenavon

Championship One side H&W Welders cause a major sixth-round upset by knocking out Irish Cup holders Glenavon at Tillysburn Park.

Former Lurgan Blues forward David Rainey scored in the first half, with Scott Davidson adding the second with 16 minutes left.

Gary Smyth's side will now host Ballymena United in the last eight on 28 February, a repeat of last season's fifth-round encounter, which the Sky Blues won after a replay.
