Roberto Martinez backs 23-year-old Wigan chairman

Roberto Martinez says incoming 23-year-old Wigan chairman David Sharpe is "more than capable" of performing the role.

The Everton manager, who worked alongside the retiring Dave Whelan for at Wigan, says "age doesn't reflect the experience that he has developed".

Whelan, 78, will stay as owner but his grandson Sharpe, who was appointed as a director in December, will oversee the running of the club.
