Women's World Cup 2015: Mark Sampson hails 'excellent' England
England manager Mark Sampson says his side gave "an excellent performance" despite losing their opening 2015 Women's World Cup match 1-0 to France in Moncton.
A fantastic first-half strike from Eugenie Le Sommer was enough for victory as France ground out a deserved win, but Sampson insists England "managed the game superbly" against "one of the best teams in the tournament".
England midfielder Jill Scott says the team will now look to build momentum with three points against Mexico on Saturday.
