Bosses ready for 'intense' derby

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood and Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett predict an "intense" clash "to be relished" ahead of the two clubs' Capital One Cup third-round tie at Villa Park on Tuesday.

The two sides have not meet since January 2011, when they shared a 1-1 draw at St Andrew's in the Premier League, and both managers say they "respect" their cross-city rivals, but are keen to secure the win "for the fans".

Aston Villa's Gabby Agbonlahor has scored in three of his last five meetings with Birmingham, while Blues have gone 203 minutes of football at Villa Park without scoring.
