NI manager Michael O'Neill has 'had positive discussions' with IFA

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says he has held "preliminary discussions" with the Irish Football Association about remaining as national team boss beyond next summer's Euro 2016 finals in France.

"It is dangerous to look too far ahead in football and my focus at the moment is on preparing the squad for the Euros," commented O'Neill.

"I have had discussions with the IFA and they have all been very positive - hopefully between now and the early part of the New Year those discussions will remain positive and I am the manager going forward."
