African Footballer of the Year nominee Andre Ayew

The year has had plenty of highs for Andre Ayew, though it could have been the ultimate year had the Africa Cup of Nations final gone to plan for him. The 25-year old was reduced to tears as the Black Stars lost to Ivory Coast.

But the tournament's joint top scorer had been crucial to Ghana's run and the wideman then transferred his form to the Premier League, with an impressive five goals from his first 10 games for Swansea City.

Voting for the award opened at 1055GMT on Saturday 14 November and closed at 1800GMT on Monday 30 November.

The winner will be revealed in a special show on BBC World News at 1530GMT on Friday 11 December.
