Reading manager Steve Clarke says that he wasn't close to joining Fulham despite talking to their Championship rivals on Thursday.
The 52-year-old was widely expected to take the vacant Fulham post after it was revealed he had spoken to the Cottagers.
"All I wanted was the chance to speak to another club," said the Scot. "I decided what I had here was better."
He also claimed the players were "fully behind him" and that he now wanted to ensure his team reached the Premier League.
