Dean Smith: Walsall boss shares Martin Ling's sense of humour
Walsall boss Dean Smith tells BBC WM that one of the main reasons he has remained close friends with Martin Ling is their shared sense of humour.
Ahead of the pair meeting up on Tuesday night when Ling's Swindon host Smith's Walsall, the Saddlers boss recalls their first meeting as players at Leyton Orient.
"I remember my first training session at Orient," said Smith. "We were having a bit of a keep-ball session and I gave the ball away a couple of times.
"He shouted over to the manager: 'How much have we paid for him?' It stuck with me. It's my kind of humour. We've always got on since and we remain close friends."
