Patrick McEleney says he leaves Derry City 'with a heavy heart'

Patrick McEleney says he left Derry City to join League of Ireland champions Dundalk 'with a heavy heart' after six years at the Brandywell club.

McEleney decided to leave the Candystripes after failing to agree a new deal.

The midfielder agreed a two-year deal with Dundalk on Tuesday in what will be regarded as a major blow for Derry and their new manager Kenny Shiels.
