Jamie Vardy: Leicester striker brings Christmas cheer on hospital visit
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy may have hastened Jose Mourinho's Chelsea exit, but he has at least shown he is not full of humbug sprit by bringing Christmas cheer to children at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The England nternational scored the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Monday to take the Foxes back up to first place in the Premier League and leave the Blues languishing in 16th place.
But his festive side came out when he and his table-topping team-mates clubbed together to buy presents and then personally deliver them on Thursday.
"Some of these kids might not be able to get home home for Christmas," Vardy told BBC East Midlands Today. "There are smiles on everyone's faces. Hopefully it gives the kids a lift and hopefully they will be out of here as soon as possible."
