Nick Blackman: Reading boss says club will replace striker

Reading boss Brian McDermott says Reading will try to replace top-scorer Nick Blackman after the forward joined Derby on Wednesday.

After explaining the details surrounding the 26-year-old's exit, McDermott said he would use the remaining month of the January transfer window to try and purchase another goal-scorer.

"We'll see what's available, we will speak to the shareholders and try and bring somebody in, or maybe a couple of players," he said.

Asked whether the club may lose other senior players when their contracts run out in the summer, the 54-year-old replied: "I don't know, we'll have to see what happens in January."
