NI friendly build-up 'valuable' for Euros

Michael O'Neill has described Northern Ireland's away friendly with Wales as "the first meaningful step" in preparation for the Euro 2016 finals in France.

While he's expected to give an opportunity to several fringe players, the manager said he is looking for a consistent level of performance from Northern Ireland who are unbeaten in the last eight internationals.

O'Neill's side also face Slovenia at Windsor Park on Monday and admitted the eight days spent with the squad is "very valuable" preparation ahead of the summer's finals.
