Rangers will 'get back to golden period' - Graeme Souness

Former Rangers manager Graeme Souness believes his old club are on the verge of restoring former glories.

He insists the time under former owner David Murray, which included the last three years of his own tenure at Ibrox, was a "golden period", although admits "in the end they got their sums wrong" and "mistakes were made".

Asked whether the excesses of that period were worth Rangers' recent four-year exile from the top flight, Souness admits "it is a very difficult question to answer".
