Cliftonville lose on penalties at Ballymena

Allan Jenkins scores the winning penalty as Ballymena United beat Cliftonville 4-3 on penalties after their Irish Cup tie finishes 1-1 after extra-time.

A Tony Kane free kick gave the home side the lead while Ross Lavery headed home to pull Cliftonville level, just one minute after Peter Burke had saved a Kane penalty.

Ballymena’s Ross Glendinning saved penalties from Chris Curran and Martin Donnelly in the shoot-out, before Jenkins sent David Jeffrey’s side into the sixth round with the deciding kick
