Russian Grand Prix: Hamilton 'had no idea' of Sochi pole
Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton says he "had no idea" as he crossed the line in Sochi if he had secured pole position at the inaugural Russian Grand Prix.
The championship leader was 0.2 seconds clear of Mercedes team-mate and title rival Nico Rosberg as Williams's Valtteri Bottas lost a chance of a front-row spot with a mistake at the last corner.
Hamilton says it is "amazing" to see Williams back competing at the sharp end of Formula 1 and is looking forward to racing against them in Sunday's race.
