'Disastrous day' for McLaren

McLaren's Jenson Button laments a "disastrous day" after suffering a puncture, cracked exhaust and broken rear differential that forced him to retire the car on the penultimate lap of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Team-mate Lewis Hamilton is relieved to have "still got four points" following problems on "all three" of his pit stops that caused the 2008 world champion to drop down the field from his initial third position, coming home in eighth place.

Button had been running seventh and closing in on the Force India of Paul Di Resta in the closing stages of the race, revealing he also believes fifth-placed Nico Rosberg "would have been easy pickings" for him in the closing stages of the race.
