BBC South Today meet Dean Stoneman who has just battled back from cancer to resume his career in motor racing.
It came as a shock to the motor sport world last year when young Southampton driver Stoneman withdrew from racing.
Shortly after winning the Formula 2 World Championship, the biggest prize of his career, Dean was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He put his career on hold and has spent the past year fighting the illness.
But he is now hoping to be competing again, and told his story to BBC South Today's Emma Vardy.
