Canadian Grand Prix: qualifying highlights

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel sets the fastest time in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, pipping Lewis Hamilton to pole by 0.303 seconds at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso took third, with Mark Webber fourth and Jenson Button tenth after opting not to set a time in the final part of qualifying and deciding to start Sunday's race on the harder of the two tyre compounds.

Vettel's pole is Red Bull's third in a row as the reigning constructors champions look to extend their lead in the 2012 title race and build on their wins in Bahrain and Monaco.
