Michael Schumacher forced to retire with broken DRS system
Michael Schumacher is forced to retire from the Canadian Grand Prix after suffering from broken DRS system, meaning his rear wing was 'stuck open' and left him without enough downforce to drive quickly.
The seven-time world champion believes it was "safer" for him to stop his race after his Mercedes mechanics failed to fix the problem, which led to his fifth non-finish in seven races this season.
Schumacher has scored just two points in 2012, his worst-ever start to a season, and lies a lowly 18th in the drivers' championship.
