Brazilian Ronaldo backing Fernando Alonso for F1 title

Football superstar Ronaldo is backing Fernando Alonso to win the Formula 1 world championship ahead of the title decider in his native Brazil.

Despite his favouring Alonso over championship rival Sebastian Vettel, the two-time World Cup winner reveals he would prefer one of his compatriots, either Ferrari's Felipe Massa or Williams driver Bruno Senna, to win the Grand Prix at Interlagos in front of their home crowd.

Alonso needs to score 14 points more than Vettel to take victory, with both drivers aiming to lift what would be their third world championship.
