Sebastian Vettel's road to Formula 1 glory in 2012

BBC Sport looks back at how Sebastian Vettel claimed his third successive world championship in 2012.

Vettel won four races in a row in the second half of the season to put him into the championship lead after an inconsistent start to the season.

The 25-year old from Heppenheim in Germany held off the challenge of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso to take the title by just three points.

Vettel is now the sport's youngest-ever double world champion and the ninth driver in history to win a hat-trick of titles.
