Sergio Perez 'shocked' at McLaren sacking

Sergio Perez says the decision by McLaren to drop him for next season has come as "a shock", as he was "100 per cent" expecting to stay with the team.

The Mexican was earmarked as a long-term replacement for Lewis Hamilton but leaves McLaren after just one season, with the team confirming that novice Kevin Magnussen will replace Perez as Jenson Button's team-mate in 2014.

Perez believes he has "done a good job" this season in a "very uncompetitive" car, and admits it will be "difficult" to find a drive for next season.
