Hamilton 'heart in mouth' after crash

Former world champion Lewis Hamilton says it was a "great feeling to get back in the car" despite crashing on the first day of testing for the 2014 Formula 1 season.

The Briton was the fastest runner at Jerez before a front wing failure on his new Mercedes W05 caused him to hit the barriers at the first corner and brought an early end to his running.

Hamilton said: "When the car doesn't stop when you're braking, it's always heart in your mouth - but I've had it a few times in my career, so I'm all right."

Returning Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen was the fastest man on the first day of testing, ending up 0.7 seconds faster than Hamilton.
