Ferrari: Fernando Alonso 'surprised' by Stefano Domenicali resignation

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso says that he was "surprised" by Stefano Domenicali's resignation as Ferrari team principal earlier this week.

The Italian team have struggled this season, failing to register a podium finish in the opening three races, and Domenicali will be replaced by Marco Mattiacci.

Alonso says that Domenicali was a "great person" and a good manager, but losing the driver's championships in 2008, 2010 and 2012 by such small margins may have made the situation different.
