Three cars way forward - Ricciardo

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo says he would like to see three-car Formula 1 teams in the future to make a bigger grid.

Earlier this week it was confirmed the Marussia and Caterham teams will miss this weekend's US Grand Prix because of financial problems.

Ricciardo's team-mate and four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel believes it was "unfortunately not a surprise" to see the two teams failing to make it this weekend, while McLaren's Jenson Button, who found himself without a drive when his then team Honda pulled out of F1 in 2008, knows it is a tough sport to stay in.
