Rhys Jones: The Welsh sprinter who proved doctors wrong

When Rhys Jones started playing football for a local disability club, he had no idea the impact it would have.

Having been diagnosed with viral encephalitis at the age of two, Rhys has amazed himself and his parents, who were told he would probably never sit up let alone play team games.

After his football coach noticed his "rapid" speed and contacted Disability Sport Wales, Rhys showed them just how fast he could run. And he has never looked back.

"I got through school, found sport - by accident - and it's not just changed my life, it's given me a life!" says the Commonwealth bronze medallist and Paralympian.

Sport Wales spent some time with Rhys to find out more about his incredible journey.
