Rory McIlroy says winning Irish Open title would be 'special'

Rory McIlroy played his first Irish Open as an amateur at Carton House and says he is looking forward to the event's return to the Kildare venue in 2013.

"I like Carton House and I also have good memories of going down there as part of Irish (amateur) squads," said the world number one.

"Winning the Irish Open would be very special. Hopefully I'm going to win not just one but a few Irish Opens in my career."
