Hoey aiming for more consistency

Belfast golfer Michael Hoey aims to achieve more consistency in his game as he targets an appearance at the Open Championship at Muirfield in July.

"I need to hit more fairways and more greens and that takes care of the scores," Hoey told Michael McNamee on BBC Radio Ulster's Sportsound programme.

"I'm not in the world's top 50 so I have to qualify for the majors through 36-hole shoot-outs where you need a bit of luck and the margins are very fine," he added.
