Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell are delighted after their singles wins help Europe clinch a 16½-11½ Ryder Cup victory over the United States at Gleneagles.

"The first two points today from Northern Ireland and six points between us this weekend," said McDowell.

Both men paid tribute to Paul McGinley's leadership of the European team with McDowell describing the Dubliner as the "best captain I have played under by far".
