Tiger Woods says he "can't get the consistency" after carding a 10-over-par 80 - his worst ever score at a US Open - in the first round at Chambers Bay.
The former world number one feels recuperating from back surgery is one reason for his poor form, saying: "I haven't played enough, I haven't had a rhythm to play. I didn't play much last year and I haven't played much this year".
The 14-time major winner, who is 195th in the world rankings, had a triple-bogey seven and sits 15 shots behind Dustin Johnson of America and Sweden's Henrik Stenson, who lead on five under par.
