Ardglass player Cormac Sharvin and Scottish partner Jack McDonald earn a tense one-hole Walker Cup foursomes win to help Great Britain & Ireland take a 10-6 lead heading into the final singles at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
"It's probably one of the best games I've ever played in my life," said a relieved Sharvin after American Hunter Stewart had driven into a bush on the last to hand the GB & Ireland duo victory.
"Hunter and Lee (McCoy) really put it up to us. We were four up through six but they birdied 7, 8, 9, 12, 13 and 17. It was a really great game," added Sharvin, 22.
