Royal Portrush to stage 2019 Open after 68-year gap
Royal & Ancient chief executive Martin Slumbers confirms that the 2019 Open Championship will be staged at Royal Portrush as the event returns to the Northern Ireland venue for the first time in 68 years.
Last year, the Royal & Ancient said that the Portrush course would host the event and they confirmed 18 to 21 July 2019 as the dates on Tuesday.
2011 Open winner Darren Clarke said staging the "biggest and finest tournament in golf here will be a very proud moment".
The Open will be the biggest sporting event ever held in Northern Ireland.
