Irish Open: Darren Clarke happy to be back at 'special' K Club
European Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke shares some of his happiest memories of the K Club ahead of this week's Irish Open at the County Kildare course.
Clarke describes the 2006 Ryder Cup as "probably the most special week of my life in golfing terms" and also recalls shooting a round of 60 at the same venue.
"I will never forget the reception I received here in 2006, I've had so many good things happen here," Clarke told BBC Sport NI's Stephen Watson.
With regard to this year's Ryder Cup at Hazeltine, Clarke indicates that he is "as excited as anyone else to see who makes the team".
"Things could change a lot in the coming few months," added the 2011 Open champion, who is drawing on the expertise of a number of prominent sporting figures as part of his preparations.
