McIlroy well in hunt for Irish Open title

Rory McIlroy is happy to be in contention after two rounds of the Irish Open at the K Club in County Kildare.

Having missed the cut at his home event for the last three years, the world number three looks well placed to mount a serious challenge to win the tournament for the first time.

A second-round 70 left him a shot behind leaders Danny Willett and Marc Warren going into the weekend.
