Rory McIlroy emphasises that "mental toughness" will be key as he prepares his bid for a fifth major tournament success at this week's US Open at Oakmont.
"This golf course and this tournament always provides a different test to the others we encounter on Tour. You have to grind it out and prepare as best you can for it," said the 27-year-old Northern Irishman.
"My form coming into the tournament is pretty good and I see no reason I can't continue that. You have to be smart and be patient, try to pick up a few birdies here and there and try to limit the mistakes."
